The Tar Swamp

This project is set in an environment dominated by tar, where the main challenge was to ensure that every element evoked its texture, flow, and organic formations. Throughout the scene, the tar merges with the trees, solidifying their roots and reshaping them into distorted organic structures.

The environment was designed to support the character concepts created by Albert Pujadas, inspired by dark fantasy aesthetics and medieval-era influences.

Several color studies were explored during development, many of them based on the palette used in the character designs. However, in order to create stronger visual contrast, we ultimately chose a colder atmosphere accented with subtle warm highlights.
